Kingsbury Episcopi 4 - 2 Pymore FC

A below stength Pymore team travelled to Kingsbury on a wet saturday afternoon and were taught a lesson in the passing game by a good team who, to start with, lacked the cutting edge in the final 3rd. Pymore were missing keeper Charles Young (ankle), Mike Gilmore (who was last seen behind the bar at his sisters pub), Will Stork and Jaime Gay (who wanted to celebrate the fact that Everton were top of the league).

Kingsbury started brightly forcing a few shoots at the stand-in Pymore keeper Nicholas Bodger, but Pymore opened the scoring when Timmy Hussey`s thunderbolt gave Pymore the lead. Pymore were dealt a major injury blow when new signing Rob Hedditch limped off with ankle ligament damage. Kingsbury continued to pass the ball around but the Pymore back 4 held strong. Hussey increased Pymore`s lead when he beat the offside trap and rounded the keeper.

Matt Tither deflected a shot past the helpless Bodger to give Kingbury a foot hold before they levelled when a cross dropped at the feet of a Kingsbury forward and he tucked the ball past Bodge. The fast flowing passing game started to take its toll on the Pymore team with Alex pulling his hamstring, Jules going off for a rest then coming back on again and also the fact we had a Kingsbury player playing the 2nd half for us. Hussey continued to work hard up front and saw another effort come back off the woodwork but it was left to Kingsbury to pull away to score to late goal.

Pymore`s central midfielder Robert Walters was the games outstanding player covering ever inch of grass. The defence was not far behind and the impressive Bodge in goal who pulled off some world class saves to keep out some of his fellow co-op employees.
