Lyme Regis Reserves 2 - 6 Pymore FC

Pymore outplayed Lyme Regis on their own patch at Davey Fort to come away with a well earned 3 points. Pymore went into the game missing striker Timmy Hussey who was working, centre back Simon Bush who was still recovering from poorly ribs and Elliot Beazer who might have played if he knew that Lyme provided a dug out for him to sit in. Nick Bodger was drafted in to be the 12th man for only his 3rd appearance of this long season.

Pymore started the brightest and it wasn't long before they opened the scoring when Fred Etheringham played Alex Goodrick through, his pace allowed him to beat the onrushing keeper and then slide the ball into the empty net from virtually the goal line. Pymore doubled there lead when Christian Langdon's back header looped over the keeper from a neat Julian Davies cross. Pymore went further ahead when lyme failed to clear a corner and Fred Etherington from all of 45yards smashed an unstoppable shot took a deflection which took it past the keeper. Goodrick increased Pymore`s lead before the interval smashing home from 35 yards, but Lyme got a goal back before the interval when the Pymore defence failed to deal with a corner and the Lyme player flicked home.

Lyme were overheard having a half time ear bashing but that made no different as Pymore again came out with all guns blazing. Julian Davies, suffering from a slight hangover was replaced by Gavin Rayner down the right flank. Pymore kept pressing and were rewarded when Alex Goodrick got his well deserved hat trick, despite Lyme being certain he was off side, Christian broke down the left flank and attempted a cross which was blocked and fell to Alex about 2 yards out and he just knocked it home. Gavin Rayner then got the sixth when he broke down the right flank cut inside his defender before knocking the ball over the advancing keeper.

Lyme pulled one back before the end when a shot from the edge of the box beat everyone and went just inside the post. Nick Bodger had the chance to grab Pymore`s 7th and his first ever goal when clean through but his thundering shot ended up in Lyme harbour. All is all an excellent team performance with top class performances from Rob Walter`s at Centre Back, Rob Hedditch in the middle of the park and the two strikers Goodrick and Langdon.

Pymore: Youngs, Dowle, Hansford, Hedditch, Walter, Stork (Bodger 75mins), Tither, Etherington, Goodrick, Langton, Davies (Rayner 45mins)
