Netherbury FC 0 - 0 Pymore FC
This Dorset Derby ended all square as both teams battled hard in search of the 3 Perry Street League points on offer. Despite last weeks 10-1 thumping of Hinton, the Pymore manager changed his starting 11 with the returning Rob Hedditch coming in for Paul Watkins in Centre Midfield and Christian Langton, who impressed last week when coming on in Midfield, coming in for Leigh Dowle who dropped to the bench. This meant that Jules Davies was pushed back to his best position at right back. Still missing for Pymore was Mickey Gilmore who was spotted in the large crowd of 25.
The opening periods were fairly quiet with most of the play in the middle of the field. When Netherbury did manage to get the ball forward the Pymore defence of Davies, Bush, Tither & Hansford cut out any threats which came at them. It also appeared that Netherbury have resulted to the old approach from Pymore which is to hoof it long looking for the big man, ex Pymore defender Garry Goodall. Pymore continued where they left off last week playing the flowing passing game then started to create several openings, the best of which was free kick that Timmy Hussey got his head to but his looping effort went over the Netherbury keeper but was then cleared off the line. The resulting clearance then fell to Leigh Hansford whos effort was blocked on the line.
A swift Pymore move then saw Will Stork break clear on the left flank after good work from Goodrick but his effort beat the keeper but went inches wide. With the 1st half during to a close a rare Netherbury attack saw Charlie Youngs block Adam Smith`s effort when one on one.
The second period was end to end with both sides looking for the opening goal. Timmy Hussey wasted a golden chance for Pymore cutting in from the left before blazing over and then Alex Goodrick chased a long ball down the right and his looping effort cleared the crossbar. Pymore then started getting on top and thought they had got the breakthough when Timmy Hussey`s effort was smartly saved by the Netherbury keeper. At the other end Youngs then saved smartly from Lee Stork as Netherbury boss Andy Loudon yelled at his side to start playing football. A lot of positives can come out of this match, the defence was solid, the front two of Goodrick and Hussey worked hard finding space and Robbie Walters and the games outstanding player Robbie Hedditch worked overtime in the centre of the park. A special mention to Leigh Dowle who did a excellent job running the line in place of the poorly Mr T. Discuss this match via our message boards here.
