Pymore FC 1 - 3 South Petherton Reserves

What do Pymore have to do to win a league match? This was probably Pymore`s best performance of the season but still we can't get maximum points. Pymore had Tim Hussey returning from an ankle injury but were missing Mickey Gilmore (who had a poorly toe) and also Leigh Hansford (who was sunning himself in Crete). Pymore opted to reshuffle the starting 11 bringing Kolo Bush back to centre back along side Matty Kaboul with Jamie `Neville` Gay at left back and Julian Chimbonda at right back. Morten Gamst Goodrick started on the left flank with Christian Ronaldo on the right, Robbie & Leigh Dowle were in the middle of the park. Timmy Van Hussey and Gav started together up front. Pymore started brightly with chances falling to Hussey, Rayner, Langton and Goodrick but poor finishing prevented Pymore was taking the lead.

South Petherton opened the scoring on their 1st attack with a long ball over the top which was flicked on by the Petherton forward despite being under pressure from Matty, the ball then looped over keeper Youngs. Petherton doubled their lead with their next attack when the striker broke clear before slotted cooly past the on-rushing Youngs. Chances at the other end kept on coming with Goodrick slicing over from 5 yards and Hussey also blasted over when clear, the worst of the lot was when Jules attempted a volley which ended up in West Street. Pymore did finally manage to grab a league goal when Robbie Walter`s low shot from the edge of the box crept in at the foot of the post.

Pymore continued to dominate the second period creating several chances. With more confidence in front of goal Pymore would of had their first victory and also the chance to rack up a cricket score. Timmy Hussey had a goal disallowed for offside when he poked home Gav Rayner`s cross. Shortly afterwards Petherton broke forward with only there 3rd attack of the game and increased their lead. Pymore continued to battle back and Jamie Gay let fly with a 40 yard thunder bolt which the keeper couldn`t hold to and tipped onto the bar. If we continue to play like this then our first vistory is surely right around the corner?
