White Horse FC 4 - 1 Pymore FC

Pymore were never really in this local derby played in 90 degree heat on a shit Symondsbury pitch. White Horse opened the scoring inside the first two minutes when Bodge was beaten, after that he was replaced in goal by Joesph Carter who has previously appeared for Hawkchurch. White Horse continued to dominate the 1st period with Pymore never really stringing two passes together and the movement and talking were just not there. Horse opened up a three goal lead before the break.

Pymore boss Kolo Bush made changes at the beginning of the second half bringing himself off and switching Leigh Handsford to partner Ledley at the back. The 2nd half performance was alot better, whether this was because White Horse slowed down abit or we actually played better. Carter was beaten at his near post and a few really dodgy decisions by the refree upset some of the Pymore players especially when Alex Goodrick was hacked down only to be told by the referee that he tripped in a divet on the bumpy pitch.

Carter continued to impress in goal and Pymore finally did pull a goal back, something which they really didn't deserve, when Leigh Dowle put a good ball in to Goodrick who beat the off side trap and cooly finished (a strike that Matt Derbyshire would of been proud off). Jamie Gay came on as a half time sub and got the capacity crowd on its feet with a shot which curled and came back off the cross bar. In general a poor team performance with a lot of work still to be done before the opening match of the season. Discuss this match via our message boards here.
